About the Role
Research and identify potential funding opportunities from various sources, including government agencies, foundations, and international organizations.
Prepare well-crafted grant proposals, applications, and concept notes to secure funding for BBT's post-war Tigray rehabilitation and reconstruction projects.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather project details, budget information, and measurable outcomes to incorporate into grant proposals.
Craft persuasive narratives and compelling case statements to effectively communicate the organization's mission, goals, and impact to potential funders.
Ensure grant proposals are aligned with the funder's guidelines, requirements, and priorities.
Coordinate with program managers and finance team to develop realistic budgets and budget narratives for grant proposals.
Maintain a comprehensive database of funding opportunities, deadlines, and outcomes.
Conduct thorough research on donor organizations, their funding history, and areas of interest to tailor proposals accordingly.
Track and report on grant proposal submissions, outcomes, and funding success rates.
Stay updated on emerging trends, policies, and funding opportunities in the post-war rehabilitation and reconstruction field.
Requirements
Proven experience as a grant writer or similar role, preferably in the non-profit or development sector.
Strong understanding of grant writing principles, including proposal development, budgeting, and reporting.
Excellent research and analytical skills to identify and evaluate funding opportunities.
Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts and program details in a clear and concise manner.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Ability to collaborate effectively with BBT's management team, program managers, finance teams, and other stakeholders to gather information for proposals.
Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks and the ability to incorporate measurable outcomes into grant proposals.
Proficiency in using grant management software or tools.
Bachelor's degree in communications, international development, or a related field is preferred.
